What You Will Do: As part of the Trading and Fund team with Transamerica your primary responsibility is the research and resolution of outstanding discrepancies for internal accounting systems and the fund accountant positions for all trading partners. You will also post dividends, share accounting functions, employer stock transactions, involvement in the setup of blended funds and custom portfolios, and handling re-registrations.

What You Will Learn: In this role, you will gain exposure to Transamericas trading and funds team, while interacting with multi-functional groups within Finance. You will also have the ability to support different projects and learn about different parts of the organization.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Prepare and reconcile share and cash accounts for share accounting funds.
  • Monitor blended fund activity daily and reconcile monthly.
  • Research outstanding discrepancies through mainframe queries and Crystal reports. Prepare appropriate correcting entries.
  • Post and reconcile Mutual Fund periodic dividend distributions daily.
  • Reconcile month-end daily dividend fund reinvestments. Process month-end adjustments to balance funds.
  • Prepare monthly redemption fee payments to outside fund families.
  • Prepare and send Re-registration paperwork, as well as monitoring the share movements.
  • Analyze discrepancies to determine cause and suggest corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
  • Uses multiple financial systems and/or sophisticated reporting tools to produce a variety of analysis.
  • Proactively identifies unique problems, such as reconciliation/posting issues, and resolves, if necessary.
  • Project work as needed.
  • Responsible for adherence to the company's framework of internal controls.
  • Able to work on a rotating basis in the evening for a period of time that typically lasts 30 90 minutes, typically from 9:30-11:00 PM ET.
  • Able to work on a rotating basis in the morning to assist the team in early morning processes. This may require periodically starting at 6:30 or 7:30 AM ET
  • Other duties as assigned based on divisional needs.
  • What You Need:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent education/experience.
  • Up to 2 years of experience, with degree.
  • Working knowledge of accounting area preferred (for example, investments, insurance products, premium, tax).
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, customer service approach.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate; work effectively individually and within a team, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Higher level skill set in Microsoft Excel is preferred, with experience in creating and modifying pivot tables, vlookups, and macros a plus.
  • Experience with Mutual Funds, Employer Stock, Dividends as well as NSCC Trading a plus.
