Georgia Pacific is seeking a qualified  Reliability Engineer  for the  Monticello, Mississippi  – Monticello Containerboard Mill. Our open position is on our Reliability Team, which reports to the Reliability Leader. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual and display personal ownership of Safety, Manufacturing, and Operational initiatives while working effectivity in a Team Environment to create the greatest long-term value for GP.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Proactively and deliberately advance the Market Based Management (MBM®) culture
  • Leading and advancing the asset availability and reliability of the mill operation to support the maximum daily production from the equipment.Leading and promoting root cause analysis (RCA), capture and categorize loss events, lead operator basic care, advance strategies around lubrication and implement asset strategy improvement (ASI).Collaborating with the Operations leader, Optimizer, Reliability Coordinator, Team leaders, and technicians to drive out repeated failures and implement all aspects of the company’s reliability mental model to meet production demands.Owning and maintaining the five year process and non- process infrastructure plan for the area to support cost effective and reliable operations.Applying economic thinking to lead capital and expense reliability initiatives while collaborating with operational support personnel, maintenance, reliability, and engineering.
  • Maintain reliability data in the database and monitor key reliability measures, establishing additional measures as needed
  • Develop the scope of work for area and annual maintenance outages

  • What You Will Need:


    Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field

  • 2+ years of experience within the pulp and paper or chemicals industry
  • Experience with reliability and Root-Cause-Analysis methodology and tools
  • Experience in developing and implementing improvement processes and projects
  • Experience in troubleshooting equipment issues, analyzing production loss and reliability data
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Effective communication skills (preparing project documents, presentations skills, etc.)
