About The Opportunity

Position Summary
Supervises the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of merchandise or materials. Maintains stock records and schedules. Essential to this Position

This exciting opportunity will direct the activities of multiple shifts coordinating and expediting the flow of containers inbound and outbound from customer plant to suppliers. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and supervision for general labor and forklift employees

This position will work from 1st shift - 7:30AM - 5PM, Monday through Friday

  • Lead and coordinate the shipping and receiving of containers from customers to suppliers
  • Interact with customer/supplier ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner, with effective follow-up
  • Assess manpower needs based on present and past production requirements
  • Observe and provide waste reduction opportunities related to employee productivity
  • Assist with the design, layout (striping), maintenance and continuous improvement of the work area(s)
  • Adhere to facility 5S housekeeping standards
  • Support and assist in the execution and continuous improvement of the quality policy and procedures
  • Problem solving WMS and RF Scanning issues for general workforce
  • Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum 4- 6 years of supervisory experience in a fast paced logistics and warehouse environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge using WMS systems and RF Scanners for shipping and receiving functions
  • PC Literate, including MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Lean manufacturing best practices experience
  • Excellent at determining employee performance and coach and develop others
  • Education / Certifications Education Required
    Associate’s Degree Education Desired
    Bachelor’s Degree Skills & Experience Work Experience Required
    At least 4 years relevant experience required. Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials and delivery of finished products
  • Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product components
  • Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods
  • Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility
